Physical Damage CoverageFully protecting your truck from damage and theft is an investment in your business and in its future. When your fleet isn’t functioning at full capacity, you may be losing valuable revenue. A physical damage coverage policy provides a range of options to protect your vehicle, including collision insurance, full comprehensive insurance, and combined additional coverage (CAC), which covers fire and theft. This is especially important if you are leasing your truck, as it may be required and not optional.
Coverage options include: Collision coverage- this coverage option will repair or replace your truck in the event of a collision or an accident where it rolls or overturns. Comprehensive coverage- this option protects your vehicle from theft or non-collision related damage. Combined additional coverage (CAC) with fire and theft- this option is a modified, more specific version of comprehensive coverage. One benefit of this type of coverage is that the policyholder has more control over the nature of their policy. There is no minimum coverage limit purchase required, and it may be determined by the policyholder. Additionally, the policyholder may choose the amount of their out-of-pocket deductible. A higher deductible may result in lower monthly insurance rates overall but should be an amount that can be readily paid without great hardship. To purchase this type of insurance, you must estimate the current value of this vehicle, as well as the equipment used with it. Of note, you must purchase either comprehensive or CAC in addition to collision coverage. |
